Are You Suffering From The Shiny Object Syndrome?

Shiny Object Syndrome

If you are anything like me, then you should have a bunch of products on your hard drive that you bought once a upon a time, with the intention to use when the time comes, but never did.

Well, in my case, the time never did come, or when it did, I simply forgot that I had purchased a product that could help me.

This year alone, and the year 2015 has just started, I already bought for hundreds of dollars worth of products.Products, which I thought, will help me in my Internet Marketing journey.

The products that I bought were products, which I really didn’t need right now because I have not reached that point in my journey that I need them.

How To Make Money Online

A question many people search online is “How to Make Money Online.”

There are many reasons why someone would want to make money online. One reason could be that your unemployed or you have small kids and cannot take on any job or maybe you just would like to be your own boss.

How To make money online

Whatever reason you have to want to make money online, is for this blog post not important. What is important is the how you make money online part.

The successful Internet Maker would say it is very easy to make money online, while someone just beginning would say it is not easy at all or how to I get started.

Most beginners make the big mistake to buy everything there is, when it comes to making money online products. (Shining object syndrome).

Some of these products are good, but a lot of them are making the creator of the product a lot of money, while leaving you still with unanswered questions, and an empty bank account.

The easiest way to start is by selling someone else’s product and receiving a commission on every sale (Affiliate marketing). To do this you do not even need your own website, but I recommend you do have one for reasons I will explain later.

In week 3 of the Quick Start Challenge, I was challenged into building a list of subscribers, by adding an opt-in form on our blog.

Dean Holland

Getting people to sign up (opt-in) is the hard part, because you must have traffic (visitors) coming to your page. In the Quick Start Challenge, it is all about getting free traffic.

Week 3 challenge is easy for me because I already had everything setup. I use Aweber for my Autoresponder, and I highly recommend it.

My website has an opt-in form and a popover in place, and has had 5 people sign up for my free gift since starting this challenge. So, it does work..

If you have read any of my other blog posts, you would know that I have been in the Internet Marketing business for nearly three years now.

Three years, it seems like yesterday, that I decided to do something on the Internet. Times flies and my money flew also. I have spent a lot of money to get started, and I have seen a very small amount come back through sales.

Quick Start ChallengeWith this blog post, I just want to recap about the last three years. I have had a few mentors, and all were very good, and experts in their fields. I am very grateful for their expertise, because without them I would not be where I am today.

At this very moment, I am still being coached on product creation. I am in the process of creating my very first product as we speak, and hope to launch it sometime this year.

Although, product creation is very time-consuming, well it is for me, I have found time to take on another challenge. Over the last three years, I have built a relative small list of about 600 subscribers and generated about $730 dollars. It is not what you can call a life changing amount of money, but it is at least an acknowledgment, that what I have learnt in the last three years works.
